Dainty Details - Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Friends! I just know the blogosphere is going to be plastered with my favorite shape today - the heart. So instead of doing the obvious and searching out all things heart-y, I am embracing all things red instead. I found this image over on Snippet & Ink and fell in love with this wedding.

I think one of my favorite things in this photo is the pearl bracelet (necklace?) wrapped around the bride's wrist. And those shoes! Sigh. Love! Here are a few more of this wedding shot by Elisabeth Millay...

Happy Valentine's Day lovies! Hope you have a wonderful hug and kiss filled day!

Rustic Summer Berry Brights: Pink & Red Wedding Details

The heat was cranked way up out in my neck of the woods today and it reminded me of the warm outdoors - days full of bright red strawberries, pink watermelons and orange sunsets.

I dreamt of a rustic outdoor wedding with barn dancing and happy white lights. Dessert was a pink whoopie pie washed down with a mason jar full of strawberry lemonade. And as I rubbed my dancing feet on the way home from the fun, I clutched my fabulous wedding favor - homemade raspberry jam - and I couldn't wait for tomorrow morning's warm fresh scones.

Today's post is in honor of summer and all of its fabulous bright happiness!

Spring is here! Part II - Poppy Inspired Wedding Details

In honor of my Momma's birthday which was a few days ago, I wanted to post some more fun images of wedding details around her favorite flower - the Poppy. As a little girl, the two of us would walk around and she would constantly point out every flower and teach me its name. To this day, I can remember some of the most obscure flowers (which tends to be a great party trick) because of her fun flower games. Whenever we got to the Poppies - Iceland Poppies to be exact - she would say "Those are one of Mommy's favorites!" Here are some great red and pink images to inspire a bright and happy Poppy filled wedding.

Ben & Stacey - Dunsmuir Estate May 2009

Working with Ben and Stacey on their wedding meant a day full of personal touches and fantastic color -- which brightened up the already stunning venue in the Oakland Hills. In fact, even though the weather man promised us 70 degree weather - we barely noticed that it stayed overcast and chilly from all the beautiful warm reds, oranges, yellows and gorgeous greens.

The photographer was the talented Gabriel Harber. This is one of my favorites.

The finishing touches on the back of her dress by Amy Kuschel.

The handsome Groom and his men.

Wait until you see the meadow...

Parasols to shade us from the "sun".

The fabric on the place cards matched the napkins. It was fun to use the different fabrics throughout the wedding as design details.

Ben and Stacey made an incredible rub of spices as favors for their guests.

Ranunculus - one of my favs.

Strawberry Pie for dessert - Ben's grandmother's special recipe.

The groom with Stacey's maids - check out all the great red shoes.

I love this hat that Stacey's dad wore.

The ring bearer escaped during the ceremony - with all that lawn how could he not get out and explore!

The reception was held in a large tent strung with hundreds of white lights. Red, orange, hot pink and burgundy candles in mason jars lit up the cocktail area where wine from the bride and groom's favorite winery Imagery was flowing all night long.

An amazing day was had by all. Thanks to Ben and Stacey for letting me be a part of their day.
