Brides + Grooms + Pups: Dogs in Weddings

I am a huge animal lover. Today, while strolling the streets of SF, I saw that the SF SPCA was out and about making people aware of some wonderful animals that need great homes. I am a big fan and supporter of the SPCA and have a soft spot for all animals (well maybe not ants and spiders). Anna Kuperberg is one of my favorite wedding photographers, but she is also an amazing photographer of dogs. I had to share some adorable pups that Anna shot who made their way into their owner's big days. These dogs are wonderfully adorable and an important part of the wedding party.

Are you going to be including your pet in your big day and how?

Stir It Up: Sassy Stir Sticks and Straws for your Soirée

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We visited with family and enjoyed the summer heat. To cool off, we sipped lemonade through sweet swirly straws hence the inspiration for today's post. Loving how fun and detailed you can get with your drinks!

Quaint little birds introduce the "Blushing Bride" cocktail...
Just in case you forget...

Sending important messages via straw...

Initials are always dainty...

Whooooo doesn't love owls? (I couldn't resist!)

Eat, drink and be married...

These red, white and turquoise straws squeal happiness...

Mason jars with swirly stripes...

Sweet tea sticks to stir with...

And the of course, tying the knot.

Fav Finds + Flower Friday: Being Green - Lila B. Design

I happened upon some stunning flowers back in May at Amy & Jeph's wedding. I wish I could share with you all of the fabulousness that is this wedding, but as the bride and groom are honeymooning in Thailand, photos are being kept under wraps until they get back! So below are some lovely personal snapshots that I took that will have to do for now.

Baylor Chapman at Lila B. Design is the brains behind all of the beauty in these floral designs. The coolest part? Lila B. Design is a certified San Francisco green business. By creating her own growing grounds in the heart of industrial SF, and sourcing plants and flowers from local growers, she is helping make the world a better place. You need to check out her FAQ page as well as her stunning portfolio to learn more about this great floral and garden design firm!Add Image

Food Favors - Miss Pickles Press

I could spend days surfing on Etsy.com for fun finds. In a recent surf, I came across Miss Pickles Press and fell in love with her great labels and hang tags. How perfect are these for wedding favors?

Imagine a summer backyard wedding with a family vibe and a picnic feast where the bride's grandmother's homemade strawberry jam is the treat that lucky guests get to take home. Or receiving a fun pack of "do-it-yourself" s'mores in honor of the groom's favorite camping snack.

It's sweet elements like the labels and tags designed by Miss Pickles Press that take a wedding favor to a new level - full of personal meaning and adorable detail.

Summer Scents: Lavender Inspired Wedding Details

I was fortunate to spend this past weekend soaking up the sun in Napa Valley to attend my good friend's wedding. While driving around the valley, the sweet smell of summer filled the air - and with it the smells of summer lavender. This little purple plant makes me so happy. It adds a softness to any landscape as an amazing smell to any room. J and I just finished planting different types of lavender in our backyard. I especially love the huge blooms of Spanish Lavender.

The color adds an elegant simplicity to any wedding. Lavender is known for it's calming ways, and used as decor, whether the color or the flower, adds a feeling of an outdoor evening wedding on a warm summer night, crickets humming in the background and a soft peach glow in the sky as the sun sets.

The Art of the Handwritten Letter - Personalized Stationery

I am a huge fan of mail. Well, not the bills, but all other mail. I especially love when I get a handwritten note in the mail - it makes my day! Last month, I attended The Simple Plan by Sage Wedding Pros (a MUST attend 2 day conference if you are a wedding pro!!) and was welcomed with note cards in pink (Yay!) with MY name on them. Personalized stationery - pure genius! It made me feel loved, special and important. I got all that from a packet of adorable cards with my name on them. I think this is what makes Ashley Brooke Designs so successful when she creates personalized note cards with the name AND a fab drawing of a person - it's all about the details.

So when I saw the gals of Pink Orchid Weddings post these sweet personalized stationery note cards they did for one of their clients I thought, what a perfect gift for bridesmaids! Sometimes those gals that you hold near and dear to your heart, that are right by your side on your big day, are the hardest ones to find gifts for. A recent bride packaged up personalized note cards, a sweet necklace with the b-maids initial on it and a mini clutch in a pattern that was designed just for her as a gift. Talk about the perfect thank you gift!

Here are some fun finds...I love the hula hoop girl! Good stuff!

Rustic Summer Berry Brights: Pink & Red Wedding Details

The heat was cranked way up out in my neck of the woods today and it reminded me of the warm outdoors - days full of bright red strawberries, pink watermelons and orange sunsets.

I dreamt of a rustic outdoor wedding with barn dancing and happy white lights. Dessert was a pink whoopie pie washed down with a mason jar full of strawberry lemonade. And as I rubbed my dancing feet on the way home from the fun, I clutched my fabulous wedding favor - homemade raspberry jam - and I couldn't wait for tomorrow morning's warm fresh scones.

Today's post is in honor of summer and all of its fabulous bright happiness!
