Back on the Mainland

Aloha!
Remember the technical difficulties I had when I started my vacation? Well, they are back - with a vengeance! The nifty trick I tried so that I could access my computer remotely didn't work AND now it seems to have completely wiped my hard drive. I will be at the Genius Bar tomorrow at 4:15pm praying they can save my baby. Wish me luck! Until then I will only have my trusty iPad for internet access and sad but true probably no post until late tomorrow...in the meantime, think good thoughts for me!

It's our last day here! I wanted to share one final piece of stunning decor before we hop on the plane home.

How stunning is this setting!?! This was created for a couple that chose to elope in Hawaii and thier was their sweetheart table for dinner after the ceremony. The flowers and decor were by th iamazing Flower Girls in Hawaii.

Hope you all have a great week and I will chat with you on Wednesday when I am back on the mainland! :)

Flower Friday - Flower Girls - Floral and Event Decor in Hawaii

Happy Friday! Another quickie today! As much as I love you all, my vacation is close to ending - which is so very sad! So before I hit the sand today, I wanted to tell you about an amazing floral and decor company based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Flower Girls create simply the most amazing bouquets I have seen in a long time! They can lean toward a tropical vibe, or they even do amazing things with more traditional flowers. You must take a peek at their site - their gallery is so much fun to explore and then have a million pretty pictures.

Here are a few of my favs that I grabbed off the web!

Have a great weekend!

Dainty Details - Hawaiian Wedding - The Sand Ceremony

Good morning all! It's another beautiful Hawaiian sunrise from our little lanai this morning. If you know me, I am actually not one to love the sunrises, I typically enjoy the sunsets. However, trying to explain that to an almost 8 month old on a 3 hour time change does not work out well. So, I have taken to enjoying the sunrise and lots and lots and lots of coffee.

I wanted to share another tropical wedding. Again, Events by Evonne, does an amazing job creating a picture perfect setting for this adorable couple. I am loving the sand ceremony the two of them are performing in the first photo. Such a sweet way to create a reminder of the blending of two families from the wedding day. I have had a few brides add this into their ceremony, and they all have a special place in their homes for their pretty vases of mixed sand. Also, sand isn't the only option, I have seen it done with water, dirt when planting a tree, and one of my favorites, wine!

You can check out the rest of the gorgeous photos here over on Style Me Pretty.

Are there any other things you have heard that brides and grooms use to recognize the significance of blending two families? Do share!

Enjoy the rest of your day and chat with you Friday!

Aloha! Tropical Wedding Details

Okay! Hubby's laptop to the rescue! I'm sure most of you are wondering what we are doing with so many tech connections to the real world while on vacation but truth is - heaven to me is lying on a beach, drink in hand, surfing the net and looking all of my favorite blogs, hence the need for the tech gear and the hi-speed connection.

In honor of our trip, I wanted to do a quick post today about a sweet shoot that Nancy Liu Chin, Events by Evonne and many more fab vendors did in Maui. It was posted on Green Wedding Shoes a while back, and you can click here to see more beautiful photos from this shoot.

Loving the bright colors and the amazing details.
Enjoy and Aloha!

Vacationing with Technical Difficulties

Hi all! I was attempting to post this week from the beaches of Maui but apparently the nifty remote log in to the iPad is not working as I had hoped (even though it worked perfectly fine at home - grrrrr!) Forgive me but Monday's post may be a smidge late!

In the meantime, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We spent it at Elliston Vineyards in Livermore Wine Country helping Evonne and Chris tie the knot! We all had a blast and it was such a fun day! Pictures coming soon!

Fav Finds + Flower Friday: Valley Flora - Modern Wrist Corsage

Hi gang! We have lots to do this weekend, so this post will be short and sweet! I wanted to share this fab modern take on a wrist corsage from Valley Flora. I am not a fan of pin on corsages as they tend to ruin dresses, hang funny, and look not so great after lots of hugs. The floral bracelet (image on the right) is a sweet way to honor someone without the pinning drama! And how dainty are the mini succulents!

Here are my favs from the 'net. Enjoy!

So many details to love, this wedding is a must see!

Color and Contrast - The Wedding Bouquet

Hi hi! So remember last Friday when I decided it was Fav Finds + Foto Friday instead of Fav Finds + Flower Friday? Well I am making up for it now with this crazy cool bouquet on Wednesday - okay okay, so I know it really makes no sense and I have completely messed with my editorial calendar.

Today was a rough day, I won't bother you with the details at this point in time, but just know when I saw this bouquet it made me smile and things got a smidgen better. And now, I am sharing with you.

I found this bouquet over on the very cool blog Brooklyn Bride. I am really intrigued by the darker colors of the artichokes and berries and how they contrast with the blush colored garden roses. The bouquet was designed by Poppies and Posies (loving the name) and was a result of a photo shoot where the team of designers wanted to create a wedding based from fab finds at a hardware store. Click on over to Brooklyn Bride and see what gorgeousness they pulled together.

The use of food in bouquets and boutonnieres has been a trend for a bit now and I am still loving it.

Happy Middle of the Week!

Sass Up Your Seats - Wedding Day Details - Chairs

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a good weekend. I am STILL waiting for some summer heat over here. 65 degrees is NOT what I moved out to the 'burbs for!!

I was cruising blogs Friday night (yes, when you have a 7 month old sometimes your Friday nights ARE that exciting!!) and I stumbled upon these fancy sashes on chairs. I love the pretty pastels and how the material is super silky. So elegant! I found this over on Bliss Event Group - Lara Casey and her gals sure know how to dress up a chair.

So once I saw that pretty image, I surfed blogs for a while and stumbled upon a few more chair tie ideas that I love.

This one is from the fabulous Amy Nichols of Amy Nichols Special Events, who I like lots and lots - did you know we are both Calico mommies and we were both born a few days apart in January?! She does some darn amazing things with ribbons and chairs. How perfect is the gradient palette of yellow she did with these ribbons?

There is an incredible wedding photographer, Jessica Claire (her work is amazing - you must check it out) and apparently these were the chairs at her wedding. Loving the color, loving the cameo brooch, loving it all.

Here is more chair tie eye candy for you...loving the fabric flowers especially for the bride and groom chairs.
Those smart gals at Lollipop Events & Designs used pashminas to keep guests warm and dress the chairs - ingenious!

Tied with a sweet orchid that really pops against the chocolate brown.

Using elements from your wedding theme...loving the sheer mixed in!

Another great Amy Nichols ribbon display...this one in fab bright colors.

Fun with foliage - again loving the pop of color.

What great ideas do you have on sass-ing up the seats at your wedding?

Fav Finds + Foto Friday: Meg Sexton Photography

Happy Friday! I am switching it up this week and changing Flower Friday to Foto Friday as I wanted to share a photographer who I adore as a person and a photographer. And who I also owe a big THANK YOU to for my fabulous head shots. We were recently able to work on a super fab engagement shoot together, of which I hope to share with you all soon!

But this Foto Friday is dedicated to the lovely Meg of Meg Sexton Photography and all the amazing images she captures. Here are some of my favs:

All in the Details + Jasmine Star Photography

I love details. They are such fun little surprises and in my mind are truly the glue that brings an event together. I also looooove Jasmine Star. Reading her blog is like sitting with your best girlfriend at your favorite coffee shop and just talking and laughing for hours. I feel like I have known her for years, she just gets me, and when we hang out - we have such a great time...even though she's never met me. Don't worry Jasmine, I promise I will meet you one day, (said in a loving friendship way, not a creepy stalker way) and maybe if I am lucky enough, we will do a fabulous wedding together!

Recently on Jasmine's blog she posted about a wedding she shot at Ponte Winery with the lovely Bree and Zack. The first thing I noticed were all of the sweet details, here are two of my favorites...

How cool is it that they actually took a class to learn how to letterpress! I am loving that Bree thought to highlight and remember her Something Blue and other gorgeous jewelry in a photo. Such a fun twist on capturing the details.

I am also loving how real this couple is and how incredibly fun their wedding looked. Jasmine Star and JD did an amazing job capturing who these two are as a couple, as individuals, and how much they truly love each other. Maybe it's my post about The Notebook engagement shoot on Bay Area Bride Guide yesterday, but I am way mushy today!

What details including on your big day and how are you capturing them?

The Stunning & Adorable Amy & Jeph - Holman Ranch - Anna Kuperberg

Hi All! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. I really wish the weather would get warmer - I feel like we are still in Spring! Bring me my 90 degree days - give me the reason I left the cold SF summers for the heat of suburbia! OK enough of my whining about the lack of heat.

Back in May, I got to be a guest (so much fun!!) at my lovely friend Amy's wedding. She married the bestest guy ever Jeph, and they are super duper cute together. The infamous Anna Kuperberg shot the wedding which was at Holman Ranch in Carmel and she posted some of the pictures on her blog the other day and I have to share! Amy and Jeph had a ton of do-it-themselves decor which was jaw dropping amazing. I'm sure you will see it in all its glory on a super famous wedding mag or blog soon.

I also got to help a little (I was the official shuttle guru) and meet the wonderful Amy Byrd of Amy Byrd Weddings. All of the vendors did an amazing job, especially Lila B. who just does beautiful florals.

But here are a few of my favorites that just melted my heart a little.
Aren't they gorgeous??

Can't wait for you all to see more! Hope you are having a great Monday and that the sun is warmly shining down on you.

xoxo

Fav Finds + Flower Friday: The Bride's Cafe + Janie Medley Flora Design

Another fabulous wedding blog is The Bride's Cafe. I love the weddings, engagement sessions and DIY projects that Janie feautres on her blog - but did you also know what a talented floral designer she is? I am loving this summer bouquet that she featured yesterday - and she must heart it too as I think I noticed she's holding it in her adorable blog intro shots.

Here are my favs from the web world this week:

Sweet and Saucy Shop - Tasty Treats that are Simply Beautiful

Sticking with the sweet theme this week, I wanted to showcase the amazing dessert designer Melody of the Sweet and Saucy Shop. The bummer for Bay Area Brides is that she is down south in Long Beach. But I just couldn't resist sharing a few of her fab designs just in case you demanded that she make your wedding sweets and then you would fly her up with your cake sitting on her lap (a la Sylvia Weinstock!)

Melody is the Owner and Head Pastry Chef of this adorable shop and creates some of the most stunning cakes I have ever seen! You have to click over and see more lovely stuff here on her blog.

Loving the cascade of rose petals down this all white cake.

The sweet detail of pink and white lace.

A gorgeous chocolate brown cake - yes, it is sitting on a BBQ and you will have to go to Melody's blog to find out why! ;)

You should see some of the crazy cool groom cakes she has created! This Nike Shoe Cake!

And this soccer ball cake. Melody goes into detail of how she makes them and there are a bunch more photos as well.

I hope one day I get to work with the lovely Melody from Sweet and Saucy Shop! Which cake above is your fav?

Sweet Monday - Ice Cream Sandwich Heaven!

Hi all! I am still recovering from working a tournament non-stop since Wednesday - we wrapped up late Sunday, and as soon as I got home, I plopped into bed and napped the early evening away. I'm not sure what it was, but my afternoon nap dreams were filled with scrumptious ice cream sandos and so my blog post today is dedicated to the yummy-ness I dreamt of yesterday. Check out some of these amazing ice cream sandwiches - they look like pure heaven!

Tender Crumb is a blog where Linda shares her passion for all things sweet and had me drooling over these red velvet ice cream sandwiches.

Such Pretty Things is just blog eye candy galore and I found these gorgeous ice cream sandos there.

As a little girl my momma made THE BEST peanut butter cookies! And the photo of this ice cream sandwich - chocolate chip ice cream and bananas squished between two peanut butter cookies - looks incredible.

And then I found these huckleberry ginger ice cream sandwiches over on Martha Stewart Weddings, where the couple that was featured decided to have these lovely finger desserts instead of wedding cake at their outdoor summer nuptials.
