Summer Sunflower Details

Driving through the central valley yesterday, I saw field after field of sunflowers - their little faces turned up toward the sun basking in every ray. I love how wonderfully tall and lanky they are with such heavy bright yellow heads. They are just happy flowers. So I thought I would take a stab at designing a post around the sunflower as a wedding element. These flowers really work well paired with non-traditional materials such as wicker, metals, leather, wood, and raffia. They are such a fun flower that you can take and shape into so many different wedding visions.

Sunflowers and cowboy boots work so darn well together...

This cake is so pretty, loving the petal details and the ribbon.

I couldn't resist this sweet brooch...

And fabulous scented favors...

The deep brown of this wicker charger shows off the sunflower.

Galvanized tins are another great way to display these guys.

I know these flowers on the invite are dahlias, but they give such a warm sunshine vibe like the sunflower so I had to include them. Plus there are some really funky looking sunflower invites out there...

Loving how they pop on this wooden arch.
Hope you enjoyed! See you Tuesday on Bay Area Bride Guide and see you back here on Wednesday!

Fav Finds + Flower Friday: Yellow Flower Pots and Berries

Another summer week has flown by! This Flower Friday is a bit different from past Flower Fridays in that I want to showcase this neato idea I found over on Green Wedding Shoes - one of my favorite blogs - and then realized the floral designer was the fabulous Carissa of JL Designs! A win win! This bride was married down south and look what she did! How fun are the maids with their potted bright yellow marigolds instead of traditional bouquets!?

Doesn't it look great?

And I am really lovin' the groom's boutonniere! So darn snazzy with the berries!

My fav finds these week are all real weddings! Take a peek at some fabulousness:

Flower Friday: A Fabulous Yellow Wedding Bouquet

I am a huge fan of both Anna Kuperberg and Kathryn of Dream a Little Dream Events - and earlier this week I caught sight of a photo from one of their recent weddings and my eyes zoomed in on an AMAZING bouquet (it just happened to be yellow!) and I had to know who the floral designer was.
Melissa from A Simple Ceremony created this stunning work of art. Her website is full of incredible bouquets, centerpieces, and other fun. I got happily stuck looking at her gallery for a while last night. Love! Happy Weekend everyone!

Walking on Sunshine - Yellow Wedding Fun

I just can't stop my love affair with all things yellow. I am summertime girl, Spring is nice but bring on the heat. In the quest for great photos I found the above image by Natalie Moser and it made me grin. So forgive me, but I am posting about all sorts of fun yellow finds that make me smile and think there's only a few more months til Summer.
